Another study about blood pressure and precise adjustments

A new study released in the Journal of Upper Cervical Chiropractic Research finds blood pressure improvements after patients received precise chiropractic care. What was most interesting about the findings is that not only did patients with high blood pressure come down, but it was also learned that people with abnormally low pressure tended to move toward normal after receiving precise upper cervical chiropractic care.
Authored by Dr. Scott Torns, the article, “Atlas Vertebra Realignment and Arterial Blood Pressure Regulation in 42 Subjects” appeared last month (Issue 2 ~ April 24, 2012 ~ Pages 40-45). This is not the first research study to show dramatic blood pressure improvements in patients receiving precise chiropractic care. A prominent researcher, George Bakris, MD, Director of the University of Chicago Hypertension Center led another study involving upper cervical chiropractic with similar exciting results for patients with high blood pressure. Dr. Bakris added encouraging news about the safety and effectiveness of precise chiropractic care, “And it seems to be adverse-event free. We saw no side effects and no problems.” An article about that study is available at WebMD®.
It is important to note that not all chiropractors are trained in precise upper cervical chiropractic techniques. It is a growing area of interest and I believe that careful upper cervical analysis is one of the most important aspects of my practice.
