Over the past 6 years we have participated in Project Connect. This annual event started in 2009 when the Leadership York County teamed up with the Catawba Area Coalition for the Homeless in an effort to reach out to homeless and otherwise underserved persons in the area. Since then the event has grown and includes a number of additional civic and volunteer groups and also partners with the City of Rock Hill\u2019s Weed & Seed program.
\nThis year\u2019s Project Connect was held on April 11th at the Emmett Scott Recreation Center here in Rock Hill.<\/p>\n

Built in the early 1930s, Emmett Scott Center was originally a segregated High School for African-American students. Now the site serves as one of the City of Rock Hill\u2019s parks.

\nServices provided at this year\u2019s \u201cDay of Caring\u201d event included clothing and food distribution, legal aid, veterans support, medical screenings, haircuts, financial counseling, voter registration, job placement and of course, chiropractic care. Joining me in providing care was Dr. Rhonda Werner, a colleague who also practices in Rock Hill. Over 600 people attended making the event a success by most any standard of measure.
