Palmer, the founder of the chiropractic profession.<br \/>\nAccompanying me in the interview was author, Todd Waters (whose recent book, \u201cChips from Sweet Home,\u201d focused deeply on the subject of the interview.  It was my honor to write a foreword to the book which is now available (see below).  Together we were interviewed about D.D. Palmer\u2019s early life, including reminisces about my research leading to the location and documentation of the site of D.D. Palmer\u2019s 1800\u2019s apiary and nursery, which he referred to as, \u201cSweet Home.\u201d  Palmer was a fascinating individual, whose thinking was as original as his personality was enigmatic.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youneedchiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spinal-Column-Radio-podcast.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youneedchiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spinal-Column-Radio-podcast.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Spinal Column Radio podcast\" width=\"696\" height=\"723\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-812\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.youneedchiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spinal-Column-Radio-podcast.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.youneedchiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spinal-Column-Radio-podcast-288x300.jpg 288w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe Canadian born Palmer immigrated to the United States during the Civil War to join his parents who had been living in Iowa for some years.  There he became a school teacher, then a horticulturist successfully raising raspberry nursery stock and became one of the country\u2019s largest producers of honey.
