In this week&#8217;s, <em>Your Healthy Tidbits<\/em> she included a great one that says, <em>\u201cThe most important part of any new habit is getting started\u2026\u201d<\/em>  I couldn\u2019t agree more.  <div id=\"attachment_999\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youneedchiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Joy-Brown.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-999\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youneedchiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Joy-Brown-240x300.jpg\" alt=\"Ms. Joy Brown\" width=\"240\" height=\"300\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-999\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.youneedchiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Joy-Brown-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/www.youneedchiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Joy-Brown.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-999\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ms. Joy Brown<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nNow it\u2019s that time of year when many people reassess their lives and resolve to start exercising, eating right, watching TV less and reading more, etc.  We all know that we can improve our family\u2019s lives in many ways \u2013 and the most meaningful of these are often the simplest building blocks of wholesome living that we all learned as small children ourselves.  So, if it\u2019s so simple then why does it become such a struggle to us?<br \/>\nOften we make good decisions and determine a course of action but then, for whatever reason we procrastinate.  The great philosophers have talked about the problem for thousands of years.  Here\u2019s my favorite:<br \/>\n<em>There is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans; that moment one   definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too&#8230;Whatever you can do, begin it.  Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now. \u2013 Johnann Wolfgang von Goethe<\/em><br \/>\nAnother really simple way to express this idea was brilliantly put out in an advertising campaign by a shoe manufacturer when Nike said, <em>\u201cJust do it!\u201d<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youneedchiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Nike.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youneedchiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Nike-150x118.jpg\" alt=\"Nike\" width=\"150\" height=\"118\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1005\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nIt\u2019s obvious then that the magic ingredient is, just like Joy said, to get started.  Joy also said, <em>\u201cIt\u2019s about consistently taking action.\u201d<\/em>  Inactivity ultimately brings failure, so perhaps the most important idea in all of this is not to be afraid.  We won\u2019t be perfect at first.
